Three days ago I posted an article about Listia, a free stuff auction site, and how I used my free credits to win an auction for a brand new, factory sealed Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVD, a $13.99 retail value!

I thought I'd follow up to let everyone know that my DVD was received in the mail, today. As stated, the DVD is brand new and factory sealed.

Personally, I'm stoked!  I can't wait to win my next free auction!

Join me on Listia to get 100 free credits plus a bonus gift! It's fun and FREE!

After my previous post about Listia, I decided it was time to list my first auction. Afterall, you can earn an additional 50 credits for listing an item!

Since I am still new to posting auctions on Listia, I thought I'd try a simple auction that really didn't require me to physically mail anything. Since I am an avid user of MyCokeRewards.com I decided the best virtual freebie I could post for the time being are Coke Rewards points.

If you're interested in bidding on my auction, it's really simple:
  1. Join Listia, if you're not already a member! New members will receive up to 150 credits, without posting an auction: 50 credits for signing up, 50 credits for linking your Facebook account, and 50 credits for linking your Twitter account!
  2. Visit my auction page: 12 Points - My Coke Rewards (4 Codes from 2 Liter, 3pts each) and place a maximum bid!
  3. Add the auction to your watch list so you can keep an eye on it. There is a button to do this right on the auction page above my name.
The best way to find ideas for your own first auction is to scan the current auctions.  I've seen things such as stamps, coins, seeds, and collector's cards, which can all be sent for the price of a first class stamp.  If you decide you want to offer free shipping on larger items, check out flat rate shipping.  The boxes are free!

*I am in no way associated with MyCokeRewards.com or Coca Cola products, other than being a big fan and loving their products!

Wednesday night I won my first Free Stuff Auction at Listia!  My prize was a A Brand New Billy Blanks Tae Bo Cardio DVD, factory sealed with Free Shipping!  I won this auction for 101 credits!

The best part is that my credits were free!  For signing up I received 50 credits plus, an additional 50 each for connecting my Facebook and Twitter accounts.  And, just because they can, Listia rewarded me with bonus credits for being active!

A few things to keep in mind:
  • Every item posted on Listia is purchased with credits.
  • You'll get free credits just for joining.
  • The best way to get additional credits is to post auctions and/or refer friends who post auctions, making this an excellent system for bartering.
  • Free Shipping is optional.  Thus, read the auction very closely.  Some auctions require local delivery only. Others charge a fee for shipping.
Certainly, if you're only interested in receiving free stuff you'll have to spend some time looking around the site and waiting for just the right moment to use your credits.  Personally, I look at this as an excellent opportunity to do a bit of spring cleaning. Out with the old and in with the new!

Join me on Listia to get 100 free credits plus a bonus gift!

As the mother of four avid gamers - five, if you count my husband - my Christmas list each year consists of quite a few games.  Each year, my kids want the newest game, as it comes out.  And, as any parent of an avid gamer will tell you, new game titles aren't cheap and the prices seem to go up each year.

Regardless of whether I am purchasing games for Christmas or a birthday, it always seems to go the same way.  First, I scramble to get a new game before it's sold out, sometimes by paying a small fee to pre-order the game.  Then, I pay the most that the game will ever cost, only to see it cheaper in stores like Wal-mart once the craze dies down.  But, before the craze can even die down, my avid gamers finish the game, often over a single weekend!

Instead of continuing the madness, I've been looking into Gamefly!  Basically, Gamefly is a game rental service much like Blockbuster but, with a rental plan more akin to Netflix!

Unlimited Video Game Rentals - Start Now!

Here's how it works:
  1. Gamefly members create a list of games they want to play.
  2. Gamefly will mail out the first game(s) to the member, according to their membership plan 1 or 2 game(s) out. Gamefly members can keep the games out as long as they want to!  No late fees, ever!
  3. When they're ready, the member returns the game(s).
  4. Once Gamefly receives a game that has been returned by a member, the next game on the member's list is sent out.
Gamefly members can cancel anytime.  There are no contracts.  Plus, members who have been with Gamefly for three months or more can trade-in used games for credit towards membership fees!

To top it all off, if a member really wants to own a title, they can purchase it from the Gamefly store!

Now you can even,  Give The Gift of Games With a GameFly™ Gift Certificate! The perfect gift for that avid gamer you love so much!
